6 oz (175 mL) Canada Dry® Ginger Ale
1 tbsp + 1/2 tsp (17 mL) green sugar crystals, divided
1 oz (30 mL) Irish whisky
2 sprigs fresh mint, divided
In small shallow dish, add 1 tbsp sugar crystals.
Cut 1 lime wheel for garnish; set aside. Cut 1 lime wedge from remaining lime; set aside. Squeeze 1/2 oz (15 mL) juice from remaining lime.
Rub glass with lime wedge and dip in sugar crystals. Fill with ice; set aside.
In cocktail shaker, add whisky, lime juice, 1 mint sprig and remaining sugar crystals (1/2 tsp plus crystals left over in shallow dish). Muddle to crush. Fill with ice and shake until frosty.
Strain into prepared glass. Top with Canada Dry® Ginger Ale. Garnish with remaining mint sprig and lime wheel.
This recipe can be easily doubled or tripled for a larger crowd.
Substitute green sugar crystals with an equal amount of coarse sugar shaken in resealable jar with a few drops green food colouring until evenly coated.
